We are conducting prototype development of the "Multi Materials B-Pillar." Aluminum and carbon fiber each have distinct properties and play important roles in the design of the B-pillar. Aluminum provides lightweight and strength, and is widely used due to its ease of processing. On the other hand, CFRP has high specific strength and energy absorption capabilities, making it an excellent choice for improving crash safety. By appropriately combining these materials, it is possible to maximize the performance of the B-pillar.
